Academy Explained

Academy Onfield

All “on field” scheduling aspects of the program will be scheduled through the Director of the Okanagan Football Academy (Jamie Boreham).  On field training consists of specific skill and technique development and refinement particular to your position of development and the sport of football.  Winter session will be held indoors at various locations throughout Kelowna and the Okanagan as we grow.

Academy Train

All "training" aspects of the Okanagan Football Academy will scheduled and developed by Aldrich Berrios, Director of Player Performance.  Training includes weight training that is held at various locations throughout Kelowna, currently weight training is supported by Kinetic Evolution.  More training aspects related to athletic movement, balance, control, agility are scheduled throughout the off season, and currently our indoor gym facility is Immaculata Regional High School.

Academy Run

All “run” aspects of the Okanagan Football Academy will be run through the Director of the Okanagan Football Academy (Jamie Boreham)

This is a free opportunity for athletes to develop running mechanics and speed training related specifically to the sport of football.  Coach Boreham has a Degree in Physical Education where he enjoyed his studies in Biomechanics related to sport and sport performance.  Coach Boreham was also in the National Athlete Development programs for Track and Field, Soccer and Wrestling, along with his extensive football career.

There is a difference between football fast and track fast.  It is important to insure that the speed you are developing is specific to your sport and has direct application to your position.
